Our ‘Home Block’ Vineyard is located in the inland sub-district called Mangatahi. At an elevation of 165 meters with a 6 degree northward tilt and deep red gravel soils, these conditions are ideal for cultivating and harvesting exquisite Chardonnay.

The 2023 vintage presented significant challenges. Persistent rain and cloud cover throughout much of the summer culminated in the devastating Cyclone Gabrielle on the 14^th of February. Miraculously, our Chardonnay remained in excellent condition despite the adverse weather. Our patience was rewarded with a harvest of ripe Chardonnay in superb condition, albeit 4 weeks later than usual. We consider this a triumph of site and viticulture under the season’s conditions.

This Chardonnay exhibits vibrant aromas of white peach, apple, subtle vanilla notes and a floral hint of acacia. The palate is beautifully meshed with crisp acidity, abundant fruit, supportive oak characters, and a long, complex finish.

While this Chardonnay is beautiful on its own, it also pairs wonderfully with your favourite seafood or chicken dishes.
